{"id":159,"date":"2024-01-03T20:51:00","date_gmt":"2024-01-04T01:51:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.annaelizabethshirley.com\/?p=159"},"modified":"2024-01-08T20:29:28","modified_gmt":"2024-01-09T01:29:28","slug":"devdiary-entry-7","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.annaelizabethshirley.com\/devdiary-entry-7\/","title":{"rendered":"\ud83d\udcbb #devdiary entry 7"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I was able to connect my Local project to GitHub.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the end, it was just a matter of stepping away and trying again, and it worked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I will add here that I must say the <a href=\"https:\/\/community.localwp.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">support at LocalWP<\/a> is great!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yesterday I made an attempt to make a very simple change to my local site, change the site logo. But it didn&#8217;t work, ha!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/discourse.roots.io\/t\/similar-issue-wrong-url-returned-by-roots-asset-function\/26493\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Roots.io support post<\/a> for some context here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, when I tried to run yarn build on my local site, it produced some errors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I spent some time running commands suggested in the error, as well as researching solutions to the error messages themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There seems to be an issue regarding OpenSSL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I do still have the original dev site too which is a live site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That has lead me down the WP-CLI path in order to run yarn build to implement the change (I did on this site too) on the live dev site. I assume I would need WP-CLI to do this. I haven&#8217;t used this powerful tool yet &#8211; what a n00b! \ud83d\ude09 Anyways.. that is where I am at now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I am currently trying to get a simple logo to change on both the local dev site and live dev site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I ultimately only want to work on one dev site, of course, but once I hit that wall on the local site I thought I would try the live site as a test and here I am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I am also trying to figure out another issue on our homepage redesign. I think I mentioned it in this blog before. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is the <a href=\"https:\/\/stackoverflow.com\/questions\/77752764\/background-image-with-textured-edges-not-showing-on-all-screen-sizes-wordpress\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Stack Overflow<\/a> post, as of right now no one has chimed in. It might be something I will need to provide a link for if anyone wants to dig around&#8230;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I seem to be a bit all over the place, but anyways, I am going to persevere. I want to become a much more advanced WordPress developer, I know I am capable. I just am in it alone, pretty much.
